MISSION
To make cooperativism a popular instrument for sustainable and solidarity-based local development of family farmers, articulating economic initiatives that expand job opportunities and income distribution, focused on the production of diverse food, with a view to food security and sovereignty as a condition for improving the lives of its members.

VISION
UNICAFES' guiding principles are: people-centered organization, solidarity, ethics, social control, autonomy, plurality, new gender, generational and ethnic relations, decentralization of structures, network integration, proximity economy, transparency, inter-cooperation and respect for the environment.

OBJECTIVES

• • • To articulate, integrate, and represent cooperative organizations within the family farming and solidarity economy sectors of Ceará, aligned with processes of sustainable local development;

    • To develop actions aimed at fostering closer ties and integration among the associated entities;

    • To enable specialized actions and consulting services in economic, financial, administrative, and environmental sustainability matters.

REPRESENTATION

Unicafes Ceará represents the group of affiliated cooperatives with public and private institutions and bodies of the three spheres of the Federal, State and Municipal Executive and Legislative branches, influencing and articulating politically, enabling partnerships and projects in favor of solidarity-based cooperativism and family farming in Ceará.

PARTNERSHIPS

Unicafes has a wide range of partnerships with Federal, State, and Municipal Governments, Public and Private Institutions, Universities, Social Movements of Rural Workers, and Civil Society Organizations.

SCOPE
Unicafes Ceará currently has 47 member cooperatives, 45 of which are family farms and solidarity economy cooperatives, and two are technical assistance cooperatives. All of them work in the production and marketing of various production chains: beekeeping (honey); cassava cultivation (cassava starch and flour); cashew cultivation (cashew nuts, cashew juice, cashew pulp and honey); sheep and goat farming, horticulture and poultry farming.
