Unicafes Paraná was founded in July 2005 from the union of popular organizations from the countryside and the city that advocate for the development of Family Farming and the Solidarity Economy with Inclusion and Social Participation. For over 15 years, the organization has been a legitimate representative of Solidarity Cooperativism with great national and international visibility for its fight to strengthen Family Farming and the Solidarity Economy in the state of Paraná.

Mission

To promote the economic and social development of family farming and the solidarity economy, strengthening cooperatives, connecting different sectors, and representing this organizational model.

Vision

Cooperative farming and solidarity economy as a tool for local and regional development based on diversified and sustainable foundations.

Objectives

- To strengthen, through unity and organization, the cooperatives of family farmers in the state of Paraná;
- To promote grassroots solidarity-based cooperativism;
- To promote cooperative education, training and information;
- To encourage and promote organization and self-management;
- To improve the marketing of products originating from family farming and solidarity-based agriculture;
- To promote cooperation among the various branches of the cooperative movement.

Representation

Unicafes Paraná carries out ongoing representational actions before public and private institutions, and federal, state, and municipal executive and legislative bodies, proposing partnerships, presenting draft laws, developing and executing investment projects, and building strategies and programs to promote and strengthen its affiliates.

Unicafes acts as a representative entity for its affiliates. In this way, Unicafes maintains a support base in the areas of Organizational Management; Accounting/Tax Management; Commercial/Business Management; Project Development/Management; Legal Advice; Communication/Advertising/Marketing; Productive Organization; among others.

Partnerships

Unicafes develops actions to strengthen cooperatives through partnerships with various actors: Federal Government (Ministries), State Government, Municipal Government (Secretariats), Public and Private Institutions, as well as Civil Society Organizations.

Scope

Currently, Unicafes Paraná has approximately 58 cooperatives in 42 municipalities in the state of Paraná, organized into Regional Committees: Central-South/Southeast, Metropolitan Curitiba, North/Northwest, West/West Coast, and Southwest/Border. The affiliated cooperatives operate in various sectors, organized into networks or central organizations.
