The UNICAFES/RN Federation is a second-tier cooperative established on July 5, 2013, stemming from the need for individual cooperatives to organize themselves into a network to strengthen marketing. It is a non-profit, limited liability civil society operating in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, with the main objective of networking to overcome challenges within family farming in the state, strongly involved in production and marketing.

Currently, the Federation is composed of a board of directors formed by the President Director Francisca Eliene and the Financial Director Fátima Torres. The affiliated cooperatives and their respective municipalities of operation of the UNICAFES/RN Federation number 11 (eleven). The cooperatives work on the principle of inter-cooperation and represent a total of 1,225 beneficiary families.

MISSION
To support cooperative farming and the solidarity economy of Rio Grande do Norte in the pursuit of improving the lives of men and women in rural areas.

VISION
Solidarity-based cooperativism as a fundamental path to human development.

OBJECTIVES
- To strengthen the cooperative movement in Rio Grande do Norte at its base;

- To encourage the production of healthy food through family farming;

- To develop environmental stewardship and improve agroecological production;

- To promote the principle of inter-cooperation with fair trade;

- To promote self-management and governance in family farming cooperatives in Rio Grande do Norte.

REPRESENTATION
UNICAFES/RN acts as an entity representing its 11 (eleven) member states in all legal and political aspects. It functions as a gateway for new businesses and tools for the development of solidarity-based cooperative farming in family agriculture in Rio Grande do Norte. Linked to UNICAFES Nacional, it also participates as a space for the development of functional projects at the national and international levels.

PARTNERS
Federal Government (Ministries), State Government, Municipal Government (Secretariats), Public and Private Institutions, as well as Civil Society Organizations. It also has partnerships with autonomous entities such as federal universities and institutes, Sebrae, among others.

SCOPE
Currently, UNICAFES/RN has 11 (eleven) family farming cooperatives in its network in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, covering 10 municipalities located in various microregions of RN.
